Monte Verità Quantum Codes 2026

Alfredo Ricci Vásquez, Jonathan Conrad and I co-organized a conference focusing on quantum error correction and fault-tolerance at the beautiful Monte Verità, Ascona, Switzerland. It gathered almost ~100 researchers from all over the world and was funded by the Congressi Stefano Franscini & ETH Zürich, Swiss Quantum Initiative, Swiss National Science Foundation as well as various private companies.

ITOS - Ion Trapping Online Seminar

In October 2024, Alfredo Ricci Vásquez and I launched a series of online seminars for the ion trapping community. These seminars focus on theoretical advancements and technological developments aimed at building fault-tolerant, large-scale quantum computers using trapped ions. Our goal is to strengthen connections within the community, fostering collaboration and progress in this rapidly evolving field. The seminars are available on YouTube.

Quantum Computing Hard- and Software summer school 2022

In 2022, alongside Stefano Barison, Alfredo Ricci Vásquez, David Schlegel, Gillenhaal Beck, and Moritz Fontboté Schmidt, I co-organized a summer school focusing on theoretical and experimental aspects of quantum computing. The school encompassed a wide array of subjects, ranging from neutral atom and photonic architectures to quantum complexity theory and benchmarking methods. Approximately 60 participants (Master’s and PhD students) attended, alongside about 25 speakers from various countries worldwide. Most of the lectures and tutorials are accessible on YouTube. We funded the school through the ETH-EPFL Summer Schools grant, which we obtained in advance of the event.
